Initial Contact: Scheduling and Describing the Problem
Your repair journey typically begins with a phone call, email, or online booking. Be prepared to describe the issues you’re experiencing—whether it’s a slow system, unexpected crashes, or hardware problems like a broken screen. Providing as much detail as possible helps Stinn Tech prepare for your visit.
Check-In: Drop-Off and Inspection
When you arrive at the Stinn Tech, the Staff will inspect your computer and may ask follow-up questions to pinpoint the issue. This step often includes a physical assessment of the device and, in some cases, running a quick test. Stinn Tech will then document the condition of your computer upon drop-off, noting what was left (charger, bag, computer etc.) or any damaged that are pre existing.
Diagnosis and Cost Estimate
Once the Stinn Tech has identified the problem, they’ll explain the findings and provide you with a recommended solution. This is also when you’ll receive an estimated cost for parts, labor, and any additional fees. At the time of writing this blog post, we start with a $70 Diagnostic fee and depending on the complexity of the issue, some repairs may require additional diagnostic testing, which might take longer.
Repair Process
If you agree to the estimate, the repair work begins. Simple issues, like software troubleshooting or small hardware fixes, might be completed on the same day. However, more complex repairs—such as replacing a motherboard or recovering data—will take a few days or longer, especially if specific parts need to be ordered, or data recovery is requested.

Quality Check and Pick-Up
Before returning your computer, Stinn Tech will perform a final quality check to ensure the repair was successful. When you pick up your device, We Email a copy of the work that was done to you so you have a record of the work. In some cases we also offer some tips on maintaining your system to prevent future issues.
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
Back Up Your Data: If your computer is functional, back up your important files to an external drive or cloud storage before bringing it in, while Stinn Tech will always do our best to mitigate data loss, it’s always best to have your own copy.
Remove Sensitive Information: Log out of personal accounts and remove any sensitive files, if possible.
Side note
Any sensitive information like a Drivers License or a SIN should never be stored on your Computer.
Bring Accessories: If the issue could be related to an accessory, such as a charger or external device, bring it with you. If you have a Laptop you are dropping off or a All in One (AIO) please if possible bring the charger \ AC adapter.
List Symptoms: Write down the issues you’ve been experiencing, including error messages or changes in performance, even take a picture of the error or problem will help Stinn Tech diagnose the problem.
